I'm Younes. This blog is my attempt to share the peace and guidance I found when I needed it most.
For a long time, my faith felt like a tradition I inherited rather than a relationship I chose. I struggled with doubts, with the weight of expectations, and with reconciling the Islam I was taught with the world I saw. I felt lost, and honestly, a little angry at my fate.
The turning point wasn't a book or a lecture. It was watching my mother. She faced immense hardship with a quiet, unwavering grace. I never heard her complain; instead, I heard her pray. I never saw her judge; I saw her give. She taught me, without ever needing to say the words, that Islam wasn't a set of rules, but a source of endless strength, compassion, and peace.
Her life was a living example of 'Birr al-Walidayn' – the beautiful Islamic teaching of honoring one's parents. She showed me what it meant to live a life of service and gratitude, and in doing so, she guided me back to the heart of my own faith.
My goal is not to be a scholar, but a friend on the journey. This is a space to explore the compassionate heart of Islam together. Here, you will find:
Clear, simple, and heartfelt answers to your practical questions about living as a Muslim today.
Honest stories and lessons learned from my own imperfect journey of trying to live a life of faith.
Thoughtful explorations of the deeper meanings, beautiful concepts, and challenging questions within Islam.
